Old weapons exhibition: These weapons were used by Sikhs against Mughals. An exhibition of old weapons, manuscripts and coins was held at Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College. The exhibition was organised by the college unit of Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle and Sant Teja Singh Library in association with the collector of old items, Narinderpal Singh.Students and teachers showed keen interest in the objects displayed during the exhibition. From Nanakshahi coins, Sikh manuscripts to rare weapons that were used during the Mughal-Sikh war were on display in an exhibition.
“All this started as a hobby as I was keen on collecting old coins. Now, I try to procure everything that is rare and associated with the Sikh history. Be it be coins, manuscripts or weapons, I do not mind paying the price for these valuables which are invaluable for Sikh history and culture,” said Narinderpal.
Coins that were used during the reign of Sikh Maharajas of Patiala, Nabha, Jind and also during the period of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, besides Nanakshahi and Gobindshahi coins used at Lahore, Amritsar, Peshawar and Multan were also on display.
