Punjab police recovers rs 1.40 crore: Sangrur Police achieved a great success by recovering rs 1.40 crore in Sangrur fraud case. 36 farmers were duped of rs. 1.57 crore. Accused Satnam, Star khan, Harvinder Babbu were located in Thailand. The three accused Satnam, Star khan, Harvinder Babbu were deported to India on December 22. Satnam (comm agent) along with 2 other persons Star Khan (Palasaur, Dhuri) and Harvinder Babbu (Dhuri) flew to Azerbaijan on 4th December night & then went to Thailand and were further planning to go to Australia after cheating farmers of their hard earned money of crops they sold to him. A fraud was committed of approx Rs 1cr 57 Lac; Rs 83 Lac from a commission agent and approx 74 Lac farmer’s crop payment.During the press conference at Sangrur Police Lines here today, Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill, DIG (Patiala range) told reporters that on November 8, Charanjit Singh son Balvir Singh resident of Bagra (Dhuri) had informed the police that the village of Arte, Satnam Singh, who once used to be a counselor of the aarthiya Satnam Singh, who once used to be a counselor of the aarthiya and now had his shop of shackles.
