In the serios of ‘Pol Khol rallies ‘across Punjab, The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Wednesday commenced its ‘Pol Khol rally ‘ at Mullanpur Dakha. Akali dal is holding rallies to highlight the “mis-governance” of the Congress government in the state- SAD spokesman Daljit Singh Cheema saidThe rallies was start from Fazilka on February 7 and today on February 14 chief Sukhbir Badal along with other Akali leaders present in the rally. Thousands of people reached to join the rally by SAD.In a statement, former minister and SAD spokesman Daljit Singh Cheema said on January 29 the Punjab government’s “betrayal” of farmers, youth, employees and other sections of the society shall be exposed through these rallies.
He said that the Congress should explain why it was “running away” from implementing the complete loan waiver scheme that it had promised to farmers.“From taking away people’s jobs by closing thermal plants, to closure of Sewa Kendras, closing of 800 primary schools, discrimination against Punjabi language in government schools, complete shutdown of development activities, atrocities against political rivals, murder of democracy in civic polls and complete failure of law and order, all issues will be highlighted,” he said.
“These issues will be highlighted during the Pol Khol rallies,” he said.
The annual SAD conference will be held at Anandpur Sahib. Rallies will continue in March month as well.
