Ludhiana: An awareness rally was taken out by students of Bharti Bal Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School in Gandhi Nagar area on Friday, to create awareness among the masses about the preventive measures against dengue and malaria. Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria along with MCL officials also participated in the rally.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor advised the school students to wear full sleeves clothes during this season if they want to save them from dengue and malaria. He also asked the school authorities to avoid water stagnation in the school premises or anywhere as mosquitoes can breed easily.
Though the school authorities told that they get the fogging done at their level the Mayor asked the health officers to get the fogging done immediately. The Medical Officer (Health) Dr Charanjit Uppal was directed to get the fogging done as soon as possible.
Gohalwaria told that many people were falling sick due to spread of dengue and malaria therefore they needed to take preventive measures. He said MCL was getting the fogging done in the city and many other efforts were being done for the purpose.
