Ludhiana: After Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA), now, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana is acting tough on marriage palaces who have not submitted their full documents till date. They are serving them notice for submitting their documents within next few days otherwise an action would be taken against them.
Already, nineteen marriage places have been served notice by the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana from a list of around 30 marriage palaces who are under scanner for not completing their documentation. The process of serving the notice to 11 marriage palaces due to the ongoing wedding season has been started today on the directions of the Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Ludhiana, Kamalpreet Kaur Brar.
Earlier in the month of January, GLADA sealed almost 32 marriage palaces for irregularities and flouting the norms and the drive to check the NOC is still in progress by the GLADA as now wedding season is there. As GLADA earlier got active and strict over the marriage palaces in their jurisdiction that are flouting rules despite their reminders to follow rules and regulations.
Among the renowned marriage palaces Hardy’s World Resorts was also there for violating the norms as palace owners did not apply for regularisation as per new policy of government.
GLADAs’ chief administrator at that time said that they have started drive against unauthorised marriage palaces adding that prior notices were served to those being sealed. But they did not seal palaces where wedding was in progress so that customers should not suffer due to the mistakes of palace owners.
They should learn from their mistakes and should abide to the rules and regulations as they won’t let anyone flout the rules and keep running the marriage palaces. But the matter of concern is that whether this drive is temporary or if indeed any strict action would be taken on the marriage palaces who did not obey to the notices being served to them by MC.
