Gurdaspur: Controversial former Superintendent of Police Gurdaspur has been mirred in yet another controversy following which, the Gurdaspur police have registered a case of sexual harassment against the officer.
The complainant Rajneesh Kumar, a employee of Powercom and a resident of this town, had lodged a complaint with the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal in 2005 in which he alleged that he was implicated in a false rape case and SP Salwinder Singh had taken Rs 50,000 to delete his name from the FIR and in the meantime, he had developed illicit relations with his wife as the SP used to visit his house on the pretext to conduct probe.
The complaint further alleged that SP allegedly asked the victim to dole out Rs 50,000 and also asked his wife to develop physical relationship with him if she wanted her husband to be exonerated in the case.
Earlier, SP Salwinder Singh was mirred in a controversy after a group of terrorists kidnapped him for nearly 30 hours before they attacked the Pathankot Air Force station on January 2.
A case against him was registered after Pathankot SP (Headquarters) Gurleen Singh Khurana conducted a probe which found him guilty following the DIG (Border Range) Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh had received a complaint from the Director, Bureau of Investigation, before he marked the probe to SP Khurana.
