DP Correspondent , Jalandhar, September 9:-As many as 1327 complaints were disposed off on the spot during the National Lok Adalat organized here at District Judicial Complex on Saturday. Chairman of District Legal Services Authority and District and Session Judge Sanjeev Kumar Garg said that during the National Lok Adalat, 12 bench for pending and pre-litigative cases were constituted in Jalandhar, four in Phillaur and one in Nakodar. He said that during the National Lok Adalat these 17 benches heard 7476 cases out of which 1327 were solved on the spot. Garg said that most of the cases pertained to Traffic Challans, Banks and other institutions.The District and Session Judge said that 1327 cases were resolved on the spot and compensation worth Rs 12.55 crore was settled during these National Lok Adalats. He said that people could approach him or secretary of the District Legal Services Authority or the concerned courts for the settlement of cases through the Lok Adalats. Garg also said that the decision of Lok Adalat was final, which could not be challenged further. The District and Session Judge said that Lok Adalats were instrumental in saving time and money of the people besides promoting harmony amongst the people.On the occasion Civil Judge (Senior Division) cum Secretary District Legal Services Authority Jalandhar Gurmeet Tiwana said that the people could also get their cases resolved through the Mediation Centre in the District Judicial Complex. He further said that complainants also could approach the front office of the authority in Court Complex for free legal aid.
