If talked about the Congress party, then it was not in a position to take any type of the political mileage out of it as it was sanctioned by the BJP led union government. But the Poll Managers of the ruling SAD-BJP alliance partner were failed to get it high lighted in a proper way so that it will be get cashed and converted into getting the votes.
In the past Former Union Minister and presently Patiala MLA, Preneet kaur took up the matter of this project with former Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh but it fail to take-off. Later Patiala MP, Dr. Dharamveera Gandhi turn serious towards this project and bring out the file of the project out from the concerned ministries and talked to the Prime Minister, Narinder Modi about the same and contested seriously for it because of which the project saw the light and it was being sanctioned.
Patiala MP,Dr Dharamveera Gandhi said that he raised the matter with the Prime Minister, Narinder Modi and the Union Railway Minister as well as he felt that it is going to be proved a lifeline for the people of the Malwa belt. He said that but I never tried to take any type of political mileage out of it as I just want to see the development of the area. He claimed that with the completion of the project in the next five years the Malwa Belt’s Industry is going to witness a big boost as it will open a new chapter of the development for the area.
