Patiala: The Patiala District Administration has decided to take strict action against those who are involved in violating the Supreme Court’s directives concerning the parameters of the noise pollution and under it, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) in his role as District Magistrate (DM) has issued notices for noise pollution to premier club of Patiala- Rajindra Gymkhana Mahendra Club commonly known as the Maharani Club situated in the Famous Baradari Gardens, hotels like the Garden Resort and the Harbans Residency as they were found openly violating the norms fixed for the noise pollution and playing the DJ systems in their premises emitting very loud noise thus creating obstruction for other people living nearby areas.
According to the sources in the district administration, the administration has decided to go tough against such violators as they had failed to fall in line so the administration was left with no other option but to initiate strict action against them. Sources said that while serving the notices to these establishments they were given time to come forward their reply failing which further action against them will be taken.
On the other hand, the police too turned tough against the noise violators in the city as it booked one of the DJs, which was operational in the Green View Colony near 21 Number Phatak Flyover and playing the DJ on very high pitch of the voice thus causing the noise pollution.
The Civil Lines Police claims to have registered a case against the erring DJ owner under the sections of the Noise Pollution Act, 2000.
