Pak terrorism becomes source of development of the village at Zero Line
Gurdaspur(Narinder Jagga) – Skaoul village is situated at the zero line in Bamial sector of Indo-Pak border. People of this village thanks to the Pakistan sponsored terrorism for the development after long times of independence. Terrorists enter this area after infiltrating from Pakistan. Political leaders come here, but only during the days of elections. Later they forget even the name of village. Even people of this village are able to understand the nature and psyche of politicians. But in past few years, Pakistani terrorist incidents in Punjab attracted the attention to this village. To prevent the militants from entering here, the road and some development works has also been done.It will not wrong to say this Bamial sector of Gurdaspur as entry point to India. This village is first booth of Bhoa assembly constituency. Adjoining to the village, the border of Jammu – Kashmir begins where there is no fencing and line of control is the partition line between India and Pakistan. Baniari village of Jammu and Kashmir is adjoining to this village. In the past incidents of terrorisms in Punjab, terrorists had entered from this Bamial sector area through Baniari are. Because the population in the Bamial sector of Punjab is low , scattered and the area is wide spread and peaceful, so the area was also safe for the Pakistani militants to enter India. In the past there were no developments in this area and lack of roads infrastructure, the area was very easy for the terrorists. According to intelligence agencies, the terrorists had entered from these areas that were responsible for Dina Nagar attack, Pathankot Air base attack as well as three militants was nabbed near village Rattwara in Bamial sector. Team of Daily Post visited here. To enter the village, a temporary bridge was built a day before on the will of political leaders for poll purpose. There are 55 families living in the village. The villager Shingara Singh said that the leaders visit here in village, but only in the days of elections. In the evening, this village is cut off from rest of the country.Around the village there is area of forests. It was also a special thing in the village, there was no other addiction except for the traditional addiction of whisky, while the youth of villages are deeply interested in sports. There was no internet addiction among the youth perhaps due to weak network. Notable, there was no bad record in the police files of any of villagers. Another villager Manoj Kumar Manjotra told that often, when there occurs a major terrorist incident near the border of J & K, then the impact of the mortar attack affects the village. The condition of the people of this village is similar to migrants. In the event of terrorists, people of the village have to leave the village and go back 10 kms. There is a school in the village, but only up to the fifth grade. There are no health services for humans and livestock. The youth in the village are educated and skilled, but there are no chances of employments. But the villagers believe that incidents of Pakistani terrorism in this region have forced the government to move towards the development lines. That is why roads have to be built on this side; the bridge has to be built. But since independence, these villages did not come in the attention of the governments. There were three layers of security deployment for entering the village, especially in the Bamiyal region.
