Pakistan polluting Sutlej river drastically river travels zig zag Ferozepur Sutlej river has been polluted badly and recently has caused many ailments among the people of the border area living at the river banks. As per the information the river Sutlej travels in a zig zag manner along the Indo-Pak border. Near Jama Palla village which is adjoining with the Mastek village the Satluj river bifurcates into two branches among these two bifurcated branches one branch enters the Pakistan side and flows many miles in the Kasur district of Pakistan and it re-enters near the village Tendiwala and falls into the main Satluj river in Indian side near Hussainwala.During its journey in Pakistan territory the Satluj flows a long distance in Pak district Kasur, where there are a large number of factories. Sources tell that all the wastage and chemicals used in the factories especially the wastage of the leather factories which are in a large numbers is flown in the Sutlej due to which the water of the river becomes very harmful and dangerous for its consumption. This branch of Sutlej re-enters in Indian side near Tendiwala and flows along the villages Hazara, Chandiwala nad many other border villages. Is it flows adjoining these dozen villages the ground water of the area has also been got polluted and the water of the hand pumps which the people of these villages has been polluted drastically that has been causing many diseases like skin diseases, dental problems, respiratory problems sexual debility among men, and mental disability of the children. Apart from this the polluted water causing a big loss to the animals like cows and the buffaloes and had been affecting the milk also. The samples of the water in the area have been failed and have been shown many impurities and having big percentage of metals, and fluoride, that has been causing many diseases. But the government does not look enough anxious about the health of the people, except some awareness seminars or taking samples of the water of the area. There is hardly any RO system available in these villages that can supply the hygienically good drinking water to the people and the animals of the area, or installing the treatment plants in the area. People of the area have urge to provide them with free drinking water of RO system and free medicines for their treatment and to take measures to provide them relief.
