Ludhiana: Parents Association Ludhiana has raised the issue against the Guru Nanak Public School for allegedly having tie up with prominent authorized book dealer (Pal Book Shop).

By making the admission dates at early stage this year, school authorities have told to purchase books at early stage before admission process begins.
The members of Parent Association also claimed that the book dealer is only providing the set of books in which the note books are included and it is mandatory to buy the whole set and no can buy any book individually. The set of book is 5-7 times costlier than the normal rates.
Income Tax Department did spot verification at alleged authorized Guru Nanak Public School book seller Pal Book Shop after following the complaint of one of the school parents.
Department also reached at the shop following the complaint of the parents under which allegations were leveled against the owner regarding the high price selling of books and seller is also forcefully selling the whole set.
According to the highly placed sources in the department, owner of the book shop claimed that school is having set commission over the selling of sets which is totally against the norms.
When Parent Association members went to Guru Nanak Public School to meet the Principal regarding the matter here on Friday, they were told that only single person will be allowed to meet the Principal but when they requested to let them enter the school to meet the Principal along with a media person, the school authority denied them to meet the Principal and said that Principal is not there.
The members have submitted a memorandum to the Principal informing that they have tried purchasing books from some other book stores as well but no other book store has kept required books. They have asked the school authorities to recommend other book stores in city as well.
