The Patiala Police on Monday claimed to have solved a blind Murder case just within four days of the crime being committed and arrested two persons behind the murder along with the weapon used in the crime.While revealing the solving of the case, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gurmeet Singh Chohan along with his team of high police officials including SP (City) Daljit Singh Rana, SP (D) Harwinder Singh Virk, DSP (CITY-2) Ramandeep Singh Bhullar and SHO of Tripuri Police Station Inspector Shaminder Singh said that on September 15 a body was recovered from Deep Nagar area as it was lying near to the rehabitilation centre there. The body had multiple injuries and it was covered with a cloth and a cycle was also lying near it. On the statement of the head constable Harpal Singh, the police registered a FIR under Sections 302 and 34 of IPC at Tripuri Police Station.
Chohan added that later the body was identified as 70-year-old ex-Armyman Nirmal Singh, resident of House No 78-D, Deep Nagar. He said that than the police constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the direct supervision of SP (City) Daljit Singh Rana and Rana instructed SHO of the Tripuri Police Station Inspector Shaminder Singh to follow some of the leads available and following scientifically these leads when all threads were combined than it helped in breaking the blind murder case.He said that the killers have used a brick in the crime to attack Nirmal Singh on his head and blood-stained brick was also recovered.Chohan said that the police is going to present both the killers before the magistrate to seek police remand as they want to cross-check some facts releated to the case.
