Patiala likely to witness multi-pronged contests in MC polls. The hometown of the Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh is finally heading to witness multi-cornered contests in 60 members house of Municipal Corporation here, which is going to Polls on December 17. The ruling Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party SAD-BJP and Shiv Sena (Hindustan) are yet to announce their candidates. Interestingly, the polls will witness the large scale participation of the independent candidates as there is enthusiasm among the people concerning the polls. The Congress has summoned its screening.committee meeting to decide the candidates to contest the elections. Whereas on the other hand, SAD-BJP alliance partners on Sunday hold day-long parleys to decide the issue of seat sharing between the two and by late evening they mutually agree on a pact. The district president (Urban) of SAD, Harpal Juneja revealed that the seat sharing pact, SAD took a big chunk of 42 seats and BJP will contest on remaining 18 seats. He further added that the selection of the candidates is likely to announce on Monday.On the other hand, Shiv Sena Hindustan has also announced to contest the MC elections under its political wing Hindustan Shakti Sena’s banner. The Shiv Sena (Hindustan) ‘s National President, Pawan Gupta, and Leader of the Hindustan Shakti Sena, Vineet Sehgal said that the party will come forward with clean image candidates, those ready to work selflessly for the development of the city. They further added that during last one decade the city witnessed a total stop over the development.
