Patiala Police introduces Foot Patrolling Concept in Royal City
Patiala(Daily Post Correspondent) – Patiala Police on Monday introduces a new concept of Foot Patrolling with deputing of Eight teams in the royal city with Eight teams put on duty and the main task assigned to these teams is to do duty near to the girl’s college and also in the busiest bazaars of the town as well so that the people will feel more secured. These teams were flagged -off by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Patiala Range, Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill and at that occasion SSP Dr. S Bhupati along with SP (Traffic), Amarjit Singh Ghuman was also present.Whereas speaking after the flagging-off of these teams DIG, Dr. Gill said that this is a part of Pilot Project initiated by the state police in six cities of the state and Patiala is one of them. While giving details about the same, he said that the main aim of the project is to bring in more security for the people especially the women and Girls.Gill said that eight teams have been constituted under the project and each team is having two cops and these teams will work from 11 am up to 3 pm and 4 pm to 9 pm in the main bazaars mostly busiest one He clarified that this force is excluded from the already in operation PCR force but PCR force will coordinate with these Foot Patrolling teams to maintain Law and order.On the other hand Gill added that within a week’s time the performance of these teams will be reviewed and also clarified that shortly these teams will be equipped with shoulder-mounted cameras like the traffic cops in the city so that every event will be recorded during the duty hours and the police will get each input in recorded version.
