Patiala Police bust seven-member Inter-State gang of Robbers
Patiala(Jagdeep Chopra) – Patiala Police in a well-coordinated Joint Operation carried away with the due logical support of the Organized Crime Control Unit (OCCU) of the Intelligence Wing claimed to have foiled a major crime relates to the robbery well before the festival of the Diwali as it busted a Seven-Member Inter-State Gang of robbers, Killers, and Snatchers and also recovered from its possession Five Illegal Revolvers along with live Cartridges of 32 bore, cash worth Rs three Lakh and a stolen Maruti Swift Car.Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Patiala Range, Sukhchain Singh Gill (IPS) on Saturday broke the information about the achievement and claimed that the joint operation was conducted somewhere last yesterday at the Sunarheri Bir situated on the Patiala-Cheeka road near here while following an accurate and specified information provided by the network of the police force.Gill while giving details about the same further told that till in the preliminary investigation it was found out that out of the seven members of the gang two are hardcore one as they are pronounced Pro-Claimed Offenders (PO)’s in about dozens of crime related cases. Besides the gang has also confessed its involvement in Nine crime-related incidents. DIG added that the Gang is having one of the newcomer member, who has been identified as Mukul Dev, a resident of the Jalandhar, and Mukul Dev is a convent educated and studying in the Diploma in Leather Designing. He said that a Knife is recovered from his possession.While talking in details about the operation, he said that the operation was conducted by a team headed by the inspector Bikramjit Singh Brar (Incharge of CIA Staff-2, Patiala) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP Headquarter) Satpal Sharma and OCCU provided it necessary logical support and the operation was conducted as the police got specific information that the members of the gang are conducting a meeting in the area of the Sunarheri Bir to hatch a plan to strike for a robbery attempt well before the festival of Diwali in the district but the Police swooped over the members of the gang foiled their attempt by nabbing them all and recovered the Illegal weapons, cash and stolen car from them.He claimed that the gang members confessed that the said car has been snatched from Ludhiana some days ago and they are using it after it.The gang members have been identified as Mnveer Singh, Hoshiarpur District, Mandeep Singh alias Manna, Jalandhar Rural, Yadwinder Singh Yaddu, Ludhiana district, Jagraj Singh alliasjoga, Jalandhar District, sanjeev Kumar alias Minta, Hoshiarpur, Amanjit Singh alias Berru, Hoshhiarpur, and Mukul dev, Jalandhar. The Police has registered a case under FIR No. 243 under sections 399, 402, 473 and 120-B of the IPC and sections 25/ 54/ 69 of the Arms Act against seven accused at the Patiala Sadar Police Station.DIG Gill further told that this gang has committed number crime relates to robbery, killing and snatching not only in the areas of the Punjab but it conducted similar crime related incidents in Uttar Pradesh as well. He said that in March last the gang has murdered one woman in the village Kohja under Bhogpur police station and a case was also registered against it there. He said that the police is going to take their police remand and during the police remand many leads to solving some of the untraceable crime related cases may come forward from the gang members.
