After Chandigarh and Ludhiana, now it’s the turn of the princely city of Patiala to get a state-of-the-art, fully modernised viral infection detection laboratory, which is slated to come up at Government Medical College here soon.Earlier, people from here had to dole out more money on tests of viral infections and bacterial diseases as they had to go to Chandigarh and Ludhiana for getting these done.
Giving details, Principal of the Government Medical College here, B L Bhardwaj told Daily Post that for a long time the need for such a laboratory was felt here and all efforts to get it sanctioned went in vain. He said that so far the medical college had received machineries imported from the USA and Autralia and these would be installed after the completion of the building, the construction of which was already going on in full swing.
