Pb govt committed to providing better health facilities: Brahm Mohindra
Patiala(Jagdeep Chopra, Sept 15) – Punjab government has decided to start special facility of cashless treatment for Cancer suffering Children upto19 years in the state and it will be provided in 18 recognized hospitals of the state. This was announced here on Friday by the Health and Medical Research Minister, Brahm Mohindra.Brahm Mohindra made this announcement while presiding over a function at the Harpal Tiwana Memorial Hall before inking of a pact by the Health and Medical Research Department with an NGO, CanKid to locate the Cancer suffering Children in the state. He said that the state government is fully committed to providing every type of help to the Children suffering from cancer in the state and also assured NGO, CanKid full support in its endeavor as well.The minister further said that the state government has also planned to launch a movement concerning the same with the help of NGOI, CanKid to bring awareness among the cancer Patients. He said that the government has already upgraded the Government Rajindra Hospital, Patiala and the Government Hospital at Amritsar as the Cancer dedicated Hospitals and the state people are going to get better treatment from these besides the government is also providing due facilities at Hospitals at the Faridkot, Bathinda, and Sangrur as well.He said that globally the scene about the Cancer is very serious as every year a total of 2.5 Lakh are suffering from cancer and out of these about 90, 000 dying. Whereas talking about the India, he said that here the ratio is 40 to 50, 000 per year and it’s rising a dangerous proposition.
