PIL seeking abolition of provisions for attachment and auction of farmers land for realization/execution of court decrees of arhtias-adjourned, so as to be listed with other PIL s pending on the issue of debt ridden farmers suicides -while on last date. Additional Advocate General Punjab had recorded a statement that State Government would take a “conscious” decision on this issue, the Advocate General who appeared personally in this case today opposed very maintain I lift of this PIL itself. Whereas Petitioner-Hari Chand Arora argued that he has challenged provisions of Section 60 of the CPC on the ground of violation of right to livelihood under article 21 of Constitution of India as it snatches land and tractor of the farmers. He also referred to tendency of another PIL on issue of suicide by Punjab farmers-upon which the Bench adjourned the PIL-Hari Chand Arora.
