Patiala:Shambu police on Wednesday nabbed three armed men who were on their way to free two under trials from Ambala jail.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dr S Bhupati the operation was launched under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Harwinder Singh Virk and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ghanour, Gobinder Singh. Bhupati stated that police got vital information some hired criminals have gone to Haryana to release their accomplice from jail.
The police laid the naka near Sanjarpur More and got hold of the accused. On searching three pistols and 10 live cartridges were found in their possession. A case under section 25/ 54/ 59 of the Arms Act has been registered at Shambhu Police Station against the three accused who have been identified as Jagdeep Singh, Lovepreet Singh and Harpreet Singh.
The Police told that in the preliminary interrogation three accused told the investigation team of the police that they have gone for a mission to Ambala along with the arms and ammunition as they have given the task to set free two Undertrials lodged in Ambala Jail in Haryana, while facing a court case concerning a murder case, when the police take out to them out of the Jail for court hearing concerning their case.
