Ferozepur: Punjab police booked more than 30 Dera Premis who were involved in the clashes that took place between radical Sikh organizations and Dera Sacha Sauda followers at Mallanwala town on February 25.
Panthak leader Balwinder Singh was among the Sikh leaders who was attacked with red chilli powder as a result four cops and two Sikhs had to undergo eye treatment.
It is pertinent to mention that on February 25, Ram Asra a Dera Premi arranged Naam Charcha at their in Malalanwala. After getting information about the Naam Charcha, various Sikh organizations arrived at the venue of discourse.
As Dera Premis did not relent to cancel the religious discourse clash between Premis and Sikhs turned ugly with the former attacking the latter with red chilli powder.
Earlier police had booked several Sikh leaders on the complaint of Premis and were sent to Central Jail Ferozepur by Court on judicial remand.
Balwinder Singh in his statement to the police had accused Bhangi Dass Ram Asra, Salwuinder Singh, Jarnail Singh residents of Basti Bishan Singh, Chaman Lal, Ravi Kant, Parkash singh, Sohan Kumar, Harbans Singh, Deepak Kumar, Tarsem Singh Balkar Singh, Kulwant singh, Balwinder Singh, Jagdeep Singh Kuldeep singh, Veer Singh, Lali and 30-35 others of hurting their religious feelings.
