Jalandhar: A day after the sensational crime took place, Jalandhar Commissionerate police on Friday solved the triple murder case and arrested the son of an industrialist along with his paramour for murdering his mother, wife and another woman.
The son of industrialist Jagjit Singh Loomba was having an illicit relation with a woman who was an employee in his firm
The police arrested Amrinder Singh, the son of industrialist Jagjit Singh Loomba for murdering his mother Daljit Kaur, wife Paramjeet Kaur alias Pammi and a third woman Khushwinder Kaur alias Neetu. The three women were cremated on Friday afternoon.
Commissioner of Police Arpit Shukla said that illicit relations of Amrinder Singh were the reason behind the triple murder of the women which took place on Thursday evening. The murder had taken place in the posh Lajpat Nagar locality of Jalandhar.
Addressing a press conference, Commissioner of Police Arpit Shukla said that the contract killers were hired at Rs 8 lakh to kill only Paramjeet Kaur (38) but they ended up killing Daljeet Kaur (55) and Khushwinder Kaur (35) also. “Amarinder was having an illicit relation with one Tejinder Kaur alias Ruby, a resident of Deep Nagar in Jalandhar Cantonment. The duo hatched the conspiracy to kill Paramjeet Kaur,” he said.
Shukla said that the police zeroed in on Amrinder Singh from his call details. Later, Ruby was nabbed and confessed to have committed the murder. “Ruby, who was also married, was working as an accountant in the firm of Amrinder Singh. Her husband also used to work in the same firm but when he came to know about his wife’s illicit relations, he not only left Ruby but his job too,” he highlighted.
Further sharing the information, the Police Commissioner said that Amrinder Singh bought a house for Ruby in Rama Mandi locality in 2015. “When Amrinder’s wife and mother came to know about his illicit relations, they went to meet Ruby and fought with her. Later, Ruby went to her native place in Jamsher village in Jalandhar Cantonment,” he said.
The Commissioner of Police said that Amrinder shared his extra marital affair story with one of his former employees Vipan from Dhilwan (Kapurthala) in January this year. Shukla said that Amrinder informed Vipan that he wanted to get rid of his wife. “Vipan hired one Amrit from Sarhala Kalan from Chabbewal in Hoshiarpur district and engineered the crime,” he said.
“Initially, the contract killers sought Rs 15 lakh for the murder. However, the deal was finalised at Rs 8 lakh. Amrinder had paid Rs 1.04 lakh as advance money and the murder was committed with .32 bore weapons, which they got from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh,” Shukla said.
The police maintained that Amrinder had directed the killers to murder only Paramjeet Kaur. As per plan, the killers conducted a recce of Amrinder’s house. They went on February 21 claiming that they had come to replace the CCTV cameras installed at his house. “The assailants again went on February 22 but Amrinder’s elder son studying in Class X was at home and the assailants came back,” the police said.
“On February 23, Amrinder took his children to see a Thar jeep, which they wanted to buy. Amrinder had informed the killers that his wife would be alone at the house, as his mother goes for a walk at around 4 pm,” he said.
However, the Commissioner of Police said that when the assailants went, the first person who opened the door was his mother Daljeet Kaur and they killed her. There were three women at the house and the killers murdered them all.
Shukla said that after the crime, the assailants and Amrinder’s paramour informed him ‘work was done’.
