Ludhiana: The department of Punjab School Education Board has issued a notice to their concerned District Education Officers to provide the old books of last academic session 2016-17 to re-use them for the new session of 2017-18. The education board confirmed that they could not buy material of paper for printing of new books for new session so that printing and distribution of new books would hopefully be done in June and July.
So board has given instructions that books which are free under Sarav Shiksha Abhiyaan policy should be provided to students for new session before declaring result on 31 March. The books should be submitted by school in charge in related schools further books are arranged on temporary basis under stop gap arrangement to provide new students in new session so that study of new students in new session cannot be affected by shortage of books.
The students of batch 2016-2017 have to submit their books to the class incharges before the declaration of results i.e. on31 March and it will be the duty of the teacher to provide the books to the students who are going to appear for the same class in session 2017-2018. By this process, there will be no loss of studies for the students.
The books for the session 2017-2018 will be available after during the month of June or July. Due to shortage of paper, the books are not published till the date.
