PATIALA: The Engineers and the Employees working with the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) on Wednesday organised a state level protest rally against the proposed Electricity Amendment bill 2014 and has urged the Prime Minister to intervene. The power sector engineers and employees of all the states have addressed a memorandum to Prime minister of India with copy to the state Chief Minister conveying their apprehensions regarding Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2014.The protest rally was addressed by Padamjit Singh Chief Patron All India power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) ,Harjit singh Secretary General NIPEF , Sanjeev Sood President PSEBEA ,K C Bhardwaj Secretary Employees Joint Forum ,Harbhajan Singh and Davinder Singh of JE council. Padamjit Singh Chief Patron All India power Engineers Federation, while addressing the rally said that the object of the proposed bill is to create avenue of making business in power sector without any investment. Splitting of distribution business into carriage and content created such scope of business with utilization of network set up by public exchequer.
