SUKHPREET SINGH, LUDHIANA:-Higher officials of Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL) are least interested to inquire the matter of discrepancies which were held in past in different sectors of department.Discrepancies were also highlighted in past including newly installed 500 MVA power transformer installed at 400 kV sub-station Rajpura in the month of March is under damaging condition, department is planning to build new transit campus in Rajpura substation and rest of four transit campus are not operational from past three years, substation including Banur, Majra, Badal, Jagraon, Bhawanigarh, Ladhowal, Naraingarh were commissioned with several glitches in them and crores of inventory is still lying in the stores of department which will not be used in future among others.Talking about the flaws during the designing of substation, highly placed sources claimed that, two Inter Connectivity Transformers (ICTs) already Installed at 400 kV sub-station Bhalwan (DHURI) are of defective design. Deputy Chief Engineer of Grid had also written to different authorities regarding this issue of defective designs. Due to poor quality of design both have already played havoc with the system remaining under breakdown for years / months. Four transit campuses are located at Makhu, Mukatsar, Nakodar and Dhuri. However, campuses are located in rural areas which far away from the city and all four of them are not easily approachable. Importantly, guest houses were made 3 years back and department is in deep slumbers as no furniture and manpower was there despite built three years back.However, department has also detected Rs 4.57 crore shortage of inventory at Jalandhar but no action has been taken so far as department is least interested to take any action. Government money is being ruined in proper manner and no inquiry has been made so far. On being contacted to UK Panda, Director Finance and Commercial who has completed his tenure over here on August 10, 2017 said, “All the discrepancies will under the eye of officials as proper inquiries had been done and audit would be done of these things”. Despite repeated attempts, Daljit Singh Mahal cum deputy chief engineer Technical Audit was not available for comments.
