Punjab at apex, field of education: Aruna Chaudhary
Sangrur: On the occasion of country’s 71st Independence Day, the Higher Secondary School Education Minister, Aruna Chaudhary, at the Police Lines Stadium, Sangrur, come as guest for the hoisting of National Flag at the main guest house. Sharing the happiness of Independence Day with the residents with people of Sangrur, Mrs. Chaudhary said that the name of Shaheed Udham Singh of Sunam comes in the first row among the great freedom fighter, who made sacrifices in the freedom movement. She said that the Punjabis gave more than 80 percent sacrifices for achieving independence and by sacrificing great freedom fighter such as Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, Shaheed Madan Lal Dhingra and Lala Lajpat Rai.She also congratulated the country’s military, the paramilitary force and the police forces of the states which are protecting us. She also called for mutual brotherhood, communal harmony and peace and their contribution towards the country’s prosperity. During her speech Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, the government has made significant achievements in different areas during its four-month tenure. She said that creating a strong Lokpal Bill by starting war against corruption. E-governance and E-auction has launched to provide transparent services. ATF campaign started against drug addiction. Judicial Commission has been set up to investigate the disfiguring of religious Sikh book. Mrs. Chaudhary while giving priority to agriculture said that the punjab government is committed to waive agricultural debt.Aruna Chaudhary said that apart from major measures to provide employment to the youth, the state would be ranked as the number one state in the field of education. She said that the free Wi-Fi facility, furniture in government colleges and government schools and to open 5 new degree colleges would be a major initiative in the state. She said that new initiative of study of girls from Nursery to PHD has been taken.The cost of Rs 10 crore for the development of infrastructure of old government colleges has been granted, including government college of Malerkotla. She said that it is proposed to give Rs. 3 crore to the Urdu Academy at Malerkotla this year. Mrs. Chaudhary said that the Congress government has always been committed to the welfare of Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, Minorities and Special People. The ‘Punjab Urban Housing Scheme 2017’ has been started.
