Bathinda: The ‘Punjab Congress Express’ started its journey in Bathinda on Monday where Manpreet Badal along with Nirmal Singh Nimma and Ajaib Singh Bhatti (MLA) addressed people from various walks of life.
The ‘nukkad’ meetings started from Subhash Market and ended in Baba Ramdev Ji Mandir, Bangi Nagar. After the poor response at Subhash market, which disturbed the party leaders, they managed to pull the crowds at next two venues.
The party leaders delivered the message of Congress party and PCC chief Captain Amarinder Singh for the upcoming elections and apprised the people about the policies which would be brought for their benefit.The leaders also talked about the present state of affairs alleging that the Akali Dal government failed to provide basic necessities like education and health to the common people and the bad condition of agriculture and law and order in the state. During the course of the day more than 7,000 people were addressed in Bathinda through the nukkad meetings.
During the meetings Manpreet Badal raised the issue of sewerage treatment plant and said the Congress government would solve the issue and also include it in the manifesto.It s pertinent to mention that 40 Congress leaders including Sunil Jakhar, Preneet Kaur and Rajinder Kaur Bhattal have been finalised to travel across the state to reach out to people for ‘Congress lyao, Punjab bachao’ campaign which was launched on recently at PPCC office, Chandigarh.
These leaders have been travelling in a group of three to four in a specially designed mini bus named “Punjab Congress Express.” 13 such GPS enabled mini buses have been specially designed for this campaign which have Congress and ‘Chahunda Hai Punjab Captain Di Sarkar’ branding over them.
