Chandigarh: In an attempt to gather the thoughts and suggestions of the common man on various serious issues prevailing in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party is set to launch its initiative of Punjab Dialogue on Saturday from Landran. The dialogue will be held with various segments of the society namely youth, farmers, women, labourers, traders, industrialists, ex-servicemen, NRI’s, government employees and professionals. The event will be alike the same held in Delhi during the Assembly polls there, informed party spoeksman. Farmer suicide, drugs, unemployment, corruption, law and order, health and education, mafia, crime against women, atrocities against Dalits and housing will be included in the concept.
The first segment to be covered under ‘Punjab Dialogue’ will be Youth and the youth manifesto will be launched in June. The first meeting with the youth will be held on Saturday at Landran near Mohali. Nine other meetings with the youth will also be held in the various parts of Punjab on the same pattern. The head of the ‘Punjab Dialogue’ Kanwar Sandhu in a press statement said the thoughts and suggestions by the youth would be utilised in preparing the manifesto for the 2017 assembly polls. “The manifesto will act as a road map for the party in coming years. AAP is the first-of-its-kind to involve the common man in preparing the manifesto,” he claimed.
