Chandigarh: Punjab Panchayat Audit: No Scam revealed. Punjab’s Panchayat and Development Minister, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa is on the verge of overhauling his department. The reason is that the employees and officers of Panchayat Department are not cooperating with him. The matter is about spending millions of rupees on the name of development during the previous government, which the minister is not able to see.The minister also did not notice anything from the third party audit of Panchayat funds. Bajwa expressed his grief during a government function in Chandigarh that he knows about the Sarpanchs. After, Congress party came to power in Punjab, Bajwa has noticed scams in Panchayats. Now the government has started asking for the details of funds issued by previous government on Shamlat from 12500 panchayats.Several Panchayat scandal appeared in March, April, June, August. The most prominent one was of Mohali of 54 crores, which also resonated in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Some officers were prosecuted. The government is also looking for funds worth Rs. 1700 crores released by the previous government before the assembly elections.The government also expressed doubts on the amount of Rs 17165 crore distributed in the constituency Bathinda under Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal. Jalalabad, Fazilka, Tarn Taran and some other constituencies came under the radar because these are considered as VIP constituencies. Interestingly, the government did not find anything special in the second, third-party investigation for funding investigations.Talking to reporters, Bajwa said that he would soon call for meeting of department officials about this. further investigation will be conducted, and required actions will be taken. He said that it is astonishing that there was no specific information in the Third Party investigation. In this regard, the Ministers have also been issued many warnings, but the panchayat secretaries ignored.
