Ferozepur: The Makhu and Mallanwala police produced 18 Sikh activists including two minors at Judicial Courts, Zira. The accused had been booked on the complaint of Dera Sacha Sauda followers for the clashes which erupted at Canal Colony Makhu and Mallanwala town in Zira sub division.
The court sent 16 activists to Central Jail Ferozepur and two minors to Child Jail at Ludhiana.
Now all of them will be presented before court on March 6 and 10. Those arrested by police Makhu police include Baba Dilbag Singh Arif Ke, , Karaj Singh Bandala, Balvir Singh Bandala, Dilbag Sngh Varpal, Harjit Singh Nizamdeen Wala, Saewan Singh Mallanwala and Hardeep Singh Mallanwala of of Ek Noor Khalsa.
The ones presented in courts by Malalanwala police include Gurbhej Singh Lakha Bhedi, Ranjit Singh Changali, Gurjit Singh Makhu, Harjit Singh makhu, Kamaljit Singh Makhu, Davinder Singh Makhu, Gurjant Singh, Makhu, Balvir Singh Makhu, Gurpreet Singh Canala Colony Makhu, Jaskaran Singh and Lakhvir Singh.
It is pertinent to mention that on February 19 a violent clash took place at Canal Colony in Makhu between radical Sikhs and followers of Sacha Sauda. On February 25, both sides again almost came to blows in Malalawala thus disturbing law and order.
