Gurdaspur: Punjab police sets up CCTV at border areas in which state govt has sanctioned Rs 75 lakh for installing closed circuit television cameras in the border areas of Gurdaspur, Batala and Pathankot. It will will add more efficiency to tackle the infiltrators in these areas and the police mechanism will improve with accompany of security forces. Pathankot’s SSP Rakesh Kaushal said on Tuesday, that these cameras are installed in vantage points like petrol pumps, district sealing points, state and national highways, hotels, banks, road intersections and crowded places like schools, colleges and stadiums. Punjab police felt the need of installing the CCTV in these areas to stop terror activities-last year on July Gurdaspur witnessed terror attack and invading Indian Air Force Base in Pathankot can be neutralise. These type of technological step will add more power and good co-ordination between security forces, personal spaces and private areas can be safely tackled during these activities.
