Punjab: For quality improvement in education, Officers to learn lesson. To update classes, the Block Primary Education Officers (BPEO) will now attend the training classes, starting from September 4. The step has been taken for quality education in primary classes. In the training cum workshop, they will be taught, how to change circumstances of their schools according to changing age, deleting traditional ways. Earlier the job of BPEO was to handle the office and administrative task. Talking to Daily Post, the Director State Education Research and Training Council , told that in order to keep up with the change in learning trends, the teachers will have to shift their focus from academic-centric education to a more holistic approach.

Sources in the department told that whether it is academic knowledge of general knowledge or personal skills and their ability to play sports, there is a lot expected from students. While teachers are supposed to enable students to attain knowledge and skill, they also need to inspire students to learn by setting an example for their thirst for knowledge themselves. Therefore it is the need of the hour for the Education Officers to shift their targets from traditional circumstances to updated age. Now, the BPEO will keep vigil on pre-primary classes, math, English and Punjab classes, e-contents, child psychology, sports, morning prayer, co-culler activities as the everything is going to change in the education system.

Two workshops for BPEO will be conducted and in the first batch, 92 officers will attend the four days training camp, starting from September 4 and in second batch, 93 officers will attend from September 17 to 20. Notable, there are 12,958 Primary schools across the State.
