Rajpura Police recovers 10 Kg of Poppy husk: one nabbed
Patiala(Daily Post Correspondent) – A team of Rajpura Police claimed to have recovered 10 Kg of Poppy husk during a checking exercise and immediately after the recovery the person carrying the Poppy husk was taken into the custody and a case registered in this connection. Meanwhile, the police said that after registering the case further investigation in the case is on as the police want to know where he brought the consignment and for whom it was taking it.According to the sources in the Police department, the recovery was made when a police party headed by the Sub-Inspector, Hardev Singh was doing duty of patrolling and later as it stationed near to the LIC Phatak at Rajpura and started checking of the person passing through it then during the checking it recovered 10 Kg of Poppy husk when checked one person identified as Jagsir Singh son of Balwinder Singh, a resident of the Village Kotha Bhaika Guru Ka Bhagta Bhaika, and immediately with the recovery the accused was taken into the custody and a case was also registered against him under FIR No. 261 under section 15/ 61/ 85 of NDPS Act at Rajpura City Police Station.Whereas Inquiry Officer (IO) of the case SI Hardev Singh said that the accused was only checked as he was moving suspiciously and it provided the catch to the police force.
