Chandigarh: Punjab Congress on Tuesday asked the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Bharaitya Janata Party (BJP) to remove Navjot Singh Sidhu from Rajya Sabha and SAD leader Tota Singh from Punjab Cabinet before making any statement against the AICC Secretary and Punjab Congress in-charge Asha Kumari. The Punjab Congress leader asked the ruling alliance to come clean on the tainted leaders of Akali Dal and BJP before making comments against anyone.
In a press statement issued here on Tuesday, MLA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa reminded the SAD about the conviction of Cabinet Minister Tota Singh in a corruption case and BJP about conviction of Rajya Sabha MP Navjot Sidhu in an attempt to murder case. “Before making any statement against AICC Secretary, both SAD and BJP must clear their respective stand on Tota Singh and Navjot Sidhu,” said Randhawa challenging the ruling alliance. He said that either the SAD-BJP leadership must throw out the above mentioned leaders from their respective posts in government or party hierarchy, or they should apologies to public for having double standards on issue of corruption and conviction.
