Ferozepur :Suffering from total blackout in the streets and at the Malwal Road, residents of Ferozepur especially from Model Town, Malwal Road had come on roads and protested against the local administration and the officials of the Ferozepur Municipality.
They had been raising the slogans against the administration and officials of Nagar council. Talking with Daily Post Sheru Kakkar, Punjab President of Crime and Corruption Reforms Organisation said, that the street lights in the area of Malwal Road and its adjoining area had not been working since 29 days and there is a total blackout like situation on the road and the streets. Many branded showrooms fall on this road, where the people had to come from distant localities in order to protest.
Many incidents of snatching has been reported from this area, and no accused is so far arrested. The darkness had been acting as a paradise for the thieves and the snatchers.
The people of the area had so many times informed the concerned department and made requests, but still no action has been initiated by the Nagar Council.
Parmjit Sodhi, president of the Shopkeeper Union Malawal Road and Bhupinder Singh Dhillon accused the concerned officer of the Nagar council not to solving their problems.
They accused that due the darkness and the fear of snatching like incidences, customers afraid of to visit in the market and it had been causing a very big financial loss to the Showrooms. Punjab president of CCRO and Association of Shopkeepers had given an ultimatum to the administration for 72 hours to revive the street lights, otherwise they would block the Traffic and stage Dharna
