Rich tributes paid to martyrs on 58th Commemoration Day. The officers and employees of the Punjab Police will always be remembered who laid down their lives to maintain law and order in the state and unity and integrity of the country. These views were expressed by Raj Bachan Singh Sandhu, Senior Superintendent of Police, District Rupnagar, on the occasion of ‘Police Commemoration Day’ at local police line. Apart from the retired officers and employees of the district police, family members of Punjab Police martyrs were also attended the function.The Punjab Police Platoon under the leadership of DSP Chamkaur Singh and Navreet Singh Virk organised parade to pay tribute to the martyrs and also gave salute to the martyrs. Speaking on this occasion, the District Police Chief Sandhu said that Punjab Police had a proud history where it made full efforts to eliminate terrorism in the state during the 1980’s. On this special occasion, tribute paid to the 383 Officers and Jawans of different state police and paramilitary forces martyred last year.Sandhu assured the families of the martyrs that they would not be offered any kind of difficulties and the district police is committed to provide all facilities to the affected families. He also honored the families of the martyrs on this occasion. The District Police Chief also addressed to the problems of families. Prior to this, MS Dhillon, Police Captain, read out the list of names of 383 Officers and Jawans of the police and paramilitary forces who were martyred for the unity and integrity of the country last year.
