Kapurthala: SAD District Planning Committee chairman Sarabjit Singh Makkar on Saturday cornered AAP for the slew of controversies raked by its leaders across the state and country.
Makkar led a scathing attack on Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann for terming Blue Card holders as beggars and attacking media men in Bassi Pathana recently. He also cornered AAP on Delhi based legislator Sandeep Kumar’s sex scandal, which left its leadership red faced.
Leading a protest from State Gurdwara in Kapurthala, Makkar said that following the recent controversies, especially where the poor people were humiliated by Bhagwant Mann, voters in Punjab would teach a hard lesson to AAP. “The AAP leaders would be shown the door by the people in Punjab. While the ruling SAD-BJP alliance was instrumental in uplifting the poor, AAP leaders have proved their sick mindset by issuing such a derogatory statement”, he said.
Makkar was accompanied by SC Wing Doaba Zone president Darshan Singh Kot Krar Khan and other leaders who raised anti- AAP slogans and burnt the effigy of Bhagwant Mann. Earlier, the SAD District women wing leader Upinderjit Kaur Makkar also attacked the AAP leadership. “It was shocking to note that Bhagwant Mann not only humiliated the poor but also attacked the media in his rally. Such a party has no right to stake claim in the elections”, she added.
SAD Jalandhar Urban chief Gurcharan Singh Channi led a scathing attack on the newly formed fourth front- Aawaaz-E-Punjab and said that all the four leaders Navjot Sidhu, Pargat Singh, Simarjit Singh Bains and Karamjit Singh Bains were dejected leaders. “The newly formed fourth front was nothing but a group of disgruntled leaders and they would be a big failure”, he said.
