Talks for seat swapping with BJP still on:Sukhbir
Ludhiana: As the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) is yet to announce its dozen of candidates for elections, the party president Sukhbir Badal said that talks on seat-swapping with alliance partner Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leaders were on. The BJP has not announced any of its 23 candidates so far.
Talking to Daily Post, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal said that if everything goes well, final decision on swapping seats with the BJP will be taken soon.
Sources disclosed that the BJP may swap either Ludhiana North or West with Barnala or some other seat of SAD. Madan Lal Bagga, SAD president of Ludhiana district, has started campaigning from Ludhiana North even thought the seat is in BJP’s quota. The SAD may field Maheshinder Grewal from Ludhiana West if the seat will be swapped with the BJP.
Badal attended a ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ ceremony for the widening of Ludhiana -Kharar road at Samrala Chowk , here today. He said that all main roads of the state are widened to four lane or six lanes and in next one and half year, all major roads of the state would be either four lane or 6six lane. Work on making all state highways four lane would start very soon, said Badal.
Commenting on the Shiromani Akali Dal leaders shifting loyalty towards Congress, Sukhbir Badal said that rebels will become headache for Congress. He said that Congress is welcoming our leaders but later our leaders will create troubles for Congress.
On Navjot Singh Sidhu’s meeting with Rahul Gandhi, the SAD president said that Rahul Gandhi, Capt Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu are leaders who have been repeatedly rejected by the people. They would have no impact on the upcoming Punjab Assembly Elections.
He also termed Rahul Gandhi, Capt Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu as spent forces adding that people will reject the Congress party as well as both the leaders, in the upcoming Assembly Elections.
He said that in the year 2014, the Congress party had contested the Lok Sabha elections under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and the party saw a miserable defeat.
Similarly, people have not yet forgotten the five years of Capt Amarinder Singh government’s misrule.
He said that instead of starting schemes for the welfare of people, Amarinder stopped schemes started by the SAD-BJP.
Not even a single youth was given employment during Amarinder’s tenure, whereas in last 10 years, the SAD-BJP government provide employment to more than 2.5 lakh youth of Punjab.
