SAD and SGPC member’s Kolianwali’s son assaulted
Bathinda(DP Correspondent) – Shiromani Akali Dal’s Muktsar district president and SGPC member Dyal Singh Kolianwali’s son Parminder Kolianwali was attacked in Malout town on late Sunday evening. According to preliminary information, the assailants opened fire at his Toyota Altis car bearing number CH01AM5060 and then pulled Parminder out of vehicle. The assailants smashed the window panes of his car and attacking him with rods and baseball bats fractured his legs.
It is learnt that Parminder was accompanied by his gunman, who also opened fire in defence, but was overpowered by the assailants. Soon after receiving the information, Parminder’s kin rushed the spot but by the time the assailants had fled away. The injured was then rushed to Max Hospital in Bathinda, where doctors declared him unfit for giving police statement.Meanwhile, dozens of Akali workers and leaders including Parminder’s father Dyal Singh Kolianwali, Bathinda district president Sikander Singh Maluka and others reached the hospital. Kolianwali alleged some Congressmen of Malout for attacking his son. He claimed that despite repeated intimations to the state police about threat to him and his family members, the cops didn’t bother to make necessary security arrangements.It is learnt that Parminder had old rivalry with Manpreet Singh Manna of Congress. Once Manna was attacked by some Akalis in 2015, when his uncle was contesting MC polls. At that time, he had accused Parminder. Sources informed that Parminder had gone to Malout for exercising in a gymnasium and while returning his rivals intercepted him near MIMIT College.
