Patiala:Samana Police on Tuesday claimed to have cracked a blind murder case in which one person named Satnam Singh alias Satta had gone missing on the night of March 21 and later his motorcycle was recovered from near the Bhakra Main Line Canal very next day and only on Monday his body was fished out from the canal near Khanaouri as the police arrested deceased’s wife along with her paramour and her brother as well.
Here it may be mentioned that on Monday when the body of Satta was fished out from the Bhakra canal then it was found out that his hands and legs were tied with ropes and even his face also bore injury marks, which resulted in bringing anger among his family members especially his brother, Gurnam Singh, who lifted the lid of his disappearance by informing the police about the same.
The police registered a case under Sections 302, 120-B of IPC at the Samana City Police Station against Satta’s wife Harvinder Kaur alias Bholli (Even as in the Police FIR it was wrongly mentioned as Ravinder Kaur), her paramour Makhan Singh son of Kala Singh, resident of village Dabba under Ghuhla Police Station in Haryana) and her brother Joginder Singh son of Jarnail Singh (resident of Banur in Patiala district).
Complainant Gurnam Singh son of Mohinder Singh (resident of Guru Nanak Nagar, ward No 11 on Bhawanigarh Road, Samana) when he asked for his brother 42-year-old Satnam Singh alias Satta from his wife Harwinder Kaur alias Bholli on March 22, then she said that he had gone somewhere during the night and never turned up, but on the same day Satta’s motorcycle was recovered from near the Bhakra Main Line Canal and then the matter was brought into the notice of the police, who registered a complaint regarding the missing of Satta and also hunt was also started in the canal.
It was learnt that Satta is having two daughters and he was involved in taking drugs and even Makhan Singh, who is Satta’s friend developed illicit relationship with his wife Bholli. Meanwhile, sources in the police said that Satta actually knew about the relationship between Bholli and Makhan too. But it was a mystery why these people decided to murder him.
Whereas deceased’s maternal uncle Sukhwinder Singh, his brother-in-law Dimple Chahal and paternal uncle Joginder Singh apprehended that Satta was first murdered and later his body was thrown in the canal with an intention to dispose off it away and they demanded a thorough probe of the matter as well.
Station House Officer (SHO) of Samana City Police Station Daljit Singh Virk said that the case has been cracked with the arrest of the three accused and the body of Satta was handed over to the members of his family after getting conducted postmortem at the Government Civil Hospital, Samana and it was cremated as well.
Interestingly, sources also stated that so far neither of the accused have confessed their involvement in the crime but the police in a cover up exercise saying that investigation is still on. Whereas the family of Satta said to be increased pressure over the Police and even threatened to lodge a protest by taking the body of Satta to the road to demand justice and the police handled the case very tactfully and got the cremation of the deceased done.
