Seven of a family killed in road mishap in Mansa
Bathinda(DP Correspondent) – Seven members of a family were killed as their Innova vehicle collided head-on with a truck near Bhikhi town of Mansa district on Wednesday. The ill-fated persons were on a pilgrimage to Guga Maidi in Rajasthan. They all hailed from Naya Gaon, Kaimbwala and Kansal villages located around Chandigarh. Police have registered the case against the truck driver, who couldn’t be identified as immediately after the accident he fled the spot.According to information, the Innova vehicle was over-loaded as there were fourteen persons in the Innova, including some children. The vehicle collided with a speeding truck coming from Bathinda side. The impact of the collision was so high that seven of them killed on the spot. Among the killed two were young children.Those killed were identified as Anil Kumar (driver), his father Partap Singh, mother Vidya, sister-in-law Aarti and nephew Ritik, one Hari Singh and his son. Seven others who sustained multiple injuries were identified as Rohit Kumar, Binder Kumar, Bindra Rani, Ajay Kumar, Chanderbhan, Lakshmi Devi and Vidya Devi.
