Ludhiana: With the motive of involving and making the public aware about the revolutionaries, their backgrounds and most importantly their intellect, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Study Centre is going to celebrate Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary with great zest and zeal. The centre is all set with the preparations and focusing more on re-introduction of Shaheed Bhagat Singh to the new generations.
The centre is the second of its kind in India, the first being in BR Ambedkar University, Aurangabad in Maharashtra. No doubt our today’s generation is so much familiar with the names of these revolutionaries but they are unfamiliar with their background and the things they have done for our country. So spreading the message to the youth about the positive aspects the centre is taking this initiative to celebrate his birthday in a different way.
Director of SBSSC Prof PS Bhogal said the centre was established in March 2015 and a certified course started in November in which the students those who were keen to know about the history of Shaheed Bhagat Singh attended it and grasp so much out of it. He informed that main objectives of setting up the centre were to enable research about Indian revolutionaries with special emphasis on Shaheed Bhagat Singh, followed by an extension education programme that involves making the public aware.
We are planning to celebrate his birthday in a way to impart the knowledge about the background of these Indian Revolutionaries. The study centre is going to represent Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birthday in September at Swami Ganga Giri Janta College, Raikot. The most exciting part of the celebrations would be that the students are thrilled by Bhagat Singh and his thoughts and not be forgotten, his extra ordinary intellect.”
