Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) is celebrating its 97th Foundation Day at Amritsar. As per the invite, a function will be held in Diwan Hall, Gurdwara Manji Sahib, Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar. On 14th December, 1920, the Shiromani Akali Dal was formed with people’s struggle, whose entire history is full mass movements.The former CM Parkash Singh Badal, the entire party leadership, and other prominent persons from religious, social and educational fields will be attending the function at Amritsar. The Shiromani Akali Dal is the main party to appear on the political scene of Punjab during the second decade of the 20th century, to safeguard the political, religious and cultural interests of the Sikh Panth and to represent Sikh community in the Legislative Assemblies established by the British Government. The SAD came into existence on December 1920 during the Gurdwara Reform movement.
