Ludhiana:Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Samrala and other cops landed in trouble for illegally impounding the bus of Juhar Company. Following the complaint Director General of Police (DGP) Suresh Arora has ordered a probe.
Following the directions of DGP, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Khanna has asked DSP Samrala to probe the matter and submit the report at earliest.
According to information, SHO Manjit Singh posted at police station Samrala illegally impounded the bus of Jujhar Transport Company. The manager of the transport company claimed that the driver was possessing all the documents and valid permit but even then SHO impounded the bus.
The transport company staff alleged that the driver of SHO was travelling in bus from Ludhiana to Samrala and misbehaved with conductor for issuing a ticket. The driver of SHO called his boss who impounded the bus for no reason.
In a complaint lodged with top police officials, Lovepreet Singh conductor of the bus said that on March 24 , they were on the way to Mohali from Ludhiana bus Stand. From Jamalpur a cop named Rajinder Singh boarded the bus for Samrala. When he was issued the ticket, he misbehaved with him and threatened to impound the bus.
The policeman called his boss and later they stopped the bus at Samrala and asked the passengers to get off the bus. Despite the staff of transport company producing all documents and valid permit of the bus, SHO impounded the bus stated the complainant.
He alleged that SHO Manjit Singh accompanied by junior cops Harvinder Singh, Rajinder Singh and others also abused the staff of bus company and threatened to face dire consequences as bus belonged to businessman having links previous government.
The conductor also accused cop Harvinder Singh of thrashing him in police station during night time.
On next day the owner of Transport Company lodged complaint with DGP who ordered probe in matter.
