New Delhi: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) nominee Manjinder Singh Sirsa is receiving unprecedented support from the Sikh congregation which has unnerved the rivals. Sirsa is way ahead of his rivals on social media, in organising election meetings and even in door to door campaign and street to street in establishing close rapport with the Sikh voters. This has also heated up the campaign for the ensuing DSGMC polls slated later this month.
Criss-crossing various parts of the city, Sirsa addressed various meetings in Punjabi Bagh, Gurdwara Paschim Vihar, North Avenue Road, Manohar Park, Madhusudan Park and Club Road and infused courage and confidence in the followers. A huge congregation at Gurdwara Sahib assured Sirsa that they have decided to support Sirsa on the basis of tremendous work done by DSGMC during his tenure.
Addressing the congregation Sirsa said he is soliciting support of the Sikhs on the performance for the last four years. Earlier, during the tenure of Paramjit Singh Sarna, DSGMC remained a hot bed of corruption, nepotism and dirty politics which led to fratricidal war in the community. “We tried to revive the Sikh history and traditions during our last four years tenure. We have fulfilled all the promises that we had committed to at the time of last elections,” he said.
