Slaughter house to be built in Jalandhar
Jalandhar – Jalandhar city is on the verge of planning the Smart City proposals. Common slaughter house project is utmost important in Smart City Project as Jalandhar never had an infrastructure of this kind. Municipal Corporation has finalised 2 acres to establish slaughterhouse in village Gadaipur, Jalandhar district. The cost of this project was estimated Rs 27 crore prior to including in Smart city, but now its cost has risen to around Rs 41 crore.
Before initiating the process, this have to be RR by PPCB (Punjab Pollution Control Board). The process has started for this. Once approved, a work order will be issued and work will be started on this. While giving information Superintending Engineer (B&R) Ashwani Chaudhary said that NOC (No Objection Certificate) has been applied from PPCB to establish slaughterhouse. He said that it is very important to get the approval of PPCB for this project, without their permission the slaughter house cannot be made as it will create several kinds of pollution and PPCB should analize the area.
The slaughterhouse project was prepared under Municipal Corporation in the initial period. Later on, Corporation Commissioner Basant Gar and CEO of Smart City Girish Dayalan decided during the meeting that this project would be brought under Smart City only. Now Smart City project is solely responsible for it.
