In order to ensure law and order situation in the wedding season, SSP Ludhiana Rural Surjit Singh held a meeting with the owners of all the marriage palaces of the area. In the meeting around 50 marriage palace owners including Raikot, Pakhowal, Sudhar, Jagraon, Mullanpur and other areas participated. Addressing the meeting, SSP Surjit Singh said that many times the casualties were reported in marriage palaces due to firing incidents.However, Police has prohibited the entry of weapons but even then the fire incidents were reported SSP issued directions to the marriage palace owners not to let any person enter along with any type of weapons. He further added that these days, special firing groups have been made in the palaces that takes money and accordingly fires for particular time.He also instructed that the usage of illegal cartridges and weapons is probable in these groups because the bullets can hit anybody. To stop the theft and robberies taking place in the marriages, high dimension CCTV cameras need to be installed. Moreover, police verification of the catering, waiters and the other external staff is important so that the no criminal can cause inconvenience, SSP further said.The list of the permanent employees of the palaces should be submitted to the concerned police stations. Adding more, SSP said that to stop the vehicle robbery, watchmen should be given the duty. If a firing incident takes place in the palace, the marriage palace owner will also have to face police actions. So, the palace owners should make the customer sign an affidavit.
