Efforts are being made for making an effective law for gangsters in Punjab, for which a sub-committee of the Cabinet has been formed. The Advocate General, Additional Chief home Secretary and many others have become a member of this committee. There are 12 gangsters of A grade and 10 of B grade in Punjab.This was disclosed by DGP Suresh Arora in District Hoshiarpur, Punjab. He came here to know the problems of families related to the police line.DGP said that during the past, department had caught a gangster and also seized four weapons from him.10 cases had already registered on him but he got bail within a month.Therefore, we want an effective law to be prevented from doing so by criminals. Recently, after the major shuffle of the senior officials of the Punjab, DGP came on visit of Punjab and after reaching Hoshiarpur, he was given a guard of honor in the Police Line after which he heard the problems of families related to Punjab Police.Meanwhile, he also honored the best performers in different fields. While interacting with the media, DGP Arora said that the police officials are taking adequate steps for gangsters in Punjab, for which the government is going to enact law and a committee has been constituted for this.He said that the Punjab Police is doing its job but the gangsters are taking advantage of law. He also cleared that it’s not that this law is new but in actual, it is already running in other states.
DGP, speaking on the question of duty to 24 hours instead of eight hours of employees in the police said that a batch of 7000 employees is still under-training in the state which will be passed by October after which, it will be covering the shortage of employees and this will improve the duties as well.At the same time, he justified the statement of Pakistan being behind the recent incidents in Punjab. On the issue of terrorism in Punjab, people of Punjab have become quite mature and they are rejecting the radical movement, which will not affect the atmosphere of Punjab.
