STF nabs former Sarpanch, one other with heroin worth crores.
Ludhiana – In a major crackdown, Special task Force (STF) arrested former sarpanch of village in district Jalandhar and 25-year old man and recovered 820 gram heroin from their possession here on Tuesday. The price of recovered heroin is worth approximately four crores according to international market. The accused were arrested from T Point of village Rajpura in Ladowal area. The accused has been identified as Fauja Singh (36) of village Bhode near Bilga in Jalandhar district.He was former Sarpanch of village. He was retired from Army. Another accused Jasvir Singh (25) of Jalandhar district is Plumber and involved in drug smuggling from last five years. In-charge of STF Inspector Harbans Singh said that during checking they have recovered 500 gram heroin from Jasvir Singh and 320 gram heroin form Fauja Singh. Both the accused were going on Pulsar motorcycle to supply heroin.Harbans Singh said that Jasvir Singh was booked in three cases of drug smuggling in jalandhar district and Fauja who is retired from Army and was also former Sarpanch of his village is facing five cases of drug smuggling. During investigation the accused revealed that they have brought heroin from Joginder Singh of village Rajpura and was on the way to supply to their customers. Joginder Singh has been nominated in the case and will be arrested shortly, added Singh.
