After sand mining scam, once again power and irrigation minister Rana Gurjeet is under the scanner as a truck that was stolen on Tuesday night was traced at minister’s liquor factory which is situated in Village Lohaka of Patti. Situation got tensed when police stopped media to enter the factory after the news spread so fast.Cabinet Minister Rana Gurjeet Singh, who is in the eye of storm due to the issue of sand mining holds a liquor factory in village Lohka of Patti constituency.
Police personnel surrounded the factory for inspection and wont’ allow media to enter. By this matter seems even more suspect.A vehicle of Attari Truck Union from Ajnala which was being driven by Sukhdev Singh loaded with 820 sacks of basmati rice which cost around Rs 12 lakhs was going to Patran, last night. But some unidentified people in car robbed that truck on gun point. They tied the driver with a tree and fled from the spot.After that somehow driver was able to untie himself and rushed to the police station and told the cops that truck had a GPS system. Then police followed the truck location according to it and reached Rana’s liquor distillery, but police and truck owner were not allowed to enter the premises.At 5 am, the GPS system again showed the location then the police went back, and found the truck at Rana factory as per GPS showed. Police took truck in its custody but it was empty.About this, SHO Rajesh Kakkar of the Sadar belt said that he came here in search of a truck at the instance of Amritsar police but the vehicle was not in the factory.
Recently, a petition was filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against Rana Gurjeet Singh, who was accused of giving benefits to their personal relatives. Acting on this, the court asked the Punjab Government, PSPCL and issued notice to Power Minister Rana Gurjeet and asked for reply till 11th November.
